Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons roasted red pepper finely diced or pureed
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Method

  1. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, roasted red pepper, and hot sauce until everything is smooth. Then stir in vinegar, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, sugar, and salt. Whisk again until all ingredients blend well.
  2. If you want a completely smooth sauce, put the mixture in a small blender or food processor. Blend for about 15 seconds until there are no chunks of pepper.
  3. If the sauce is too thick, add water one teaspoon at a time. Stir well after each addition. Taste the sauce and add more hot sauce or cayenne if you like it spicier.
  4. Cover the sauce and refrigerate it for at least 15 minutes. This helps the flavors blend. You can spread the sauce on a chicken sandwich, drizzle it over fries, or use it as a dip for nuggets.
